MacKillop Catholic College provides educational services and charges fees and levies to assist in the funding of the provision of these services on an equitable basis.
The setting of tuition fees and other charges for MacKillop Catholic College is the responsibility of the Tasmanian Catholic Education Commission. The level of fees charged annually is based on:
MacKillop Catholic College aims to keep fees as inclusive as possible. We try to minimise additional payments that may be required throughout the year. Accordingly, tuition fees cover items such as:
Items that may be covered by additional levies include:
Tuition Fees for 2023 are $4,600 (excluding levies)
Please note that the College introduced a College Laptop Program in 2023. An additional levy has been added for Years 7 and 10 and at the completion of three (3) years the laptop will become the property of the family. (Please see below)
Introduction of the lease-to-own laptop model
The MacKillop Catholic College Advisory Board recently approved the introduction of a lease-to-own laptop model to replace the current fee-for-rent charge. This significant change will ensure that parents and caregivers retain ownership of the College approved and maintained laptop after three years (assuming full payment of the College’s ICT Levy).
The College’s ICT Committee has recommended the newly released Microsoft Surface Go 2 as the preferred device for students. From 2023, an annual $600 ICT levy will be included on the fee statement, commencing in 2023 with Year 7 and Year 10 students. This fee will cover annual lease payments for the device, a laptop bag, full student access to all required software (including the Microsoft Office suite), student access to JacPLUS (the College’s online text and resource provider) and student and parent access to SEQTA (the College’s student management system).
Notice of Withdrawal
The College’s Student Enrolment Application Form states that written notice of at least ten school weeks is required prior to withdrawal of a student from the school. Where notice is not provided, full tuition fees may need to be paid to the school for the number of school weeks where notice was not provided. This includes enrolment withdrawal prior to the start of the school year. In 2022, this equated to a charge of $1,140.
A Confirmation of Enrolment Fee of $150.00 applies to each acceptance.
